Lakesia Charese began her musical career at the age of twelve.  Lakesia’s mother recognized that she was gifted and had a deep passion for singing, and took the initiative to enter her in talent contests, pageants and events to give her exposure. Lakesia's mother also introduced her to Dement Ormond who is a song writer, producer, engineer and musician; impressed with her unique vocal style, he provided her with her first experience in a recording studio.  Lakesia continued to grow, often singing at weddings, special events, and social gatherings.  In 2003 there was an opportunity to make her acting  debut as “Glinda” in the Broadway version of the musical the “Wiz”. Lakesia has also been seen portraying the role of “Deena Jones” in the Broadway version of “Dreamgirls” in Rochester, & Medina NY, under the direction of world renowned choreographer Matthew Clark, and director Daniel Doctor.  While Lakesia is a native of Buffalo, NY, in 2012 she moved to DeLand, FL, where she met writer/director Andre Darby (brother of singer Terrance Trent Darby).   After meeting Darby, she landed the lead role of “Vanessa” of Darby’s comedic stage play “My Prodigal Child”. Lakesia received rave reviews, playing opposite of Carl Payne, known for his role as “Cockroach” in the Cosby Show, but is more popular for his role as “Cole” on the hit TV show “Martin”. 

Lakesia remains humble after receiving overwhelming compliments and admiration after each performance. Lakesia is one of the most a sought after singer/actress, in the area, and gives all the glory to God.
